An athlete from a young age, Emmett has been involved with sports for his whole life. His passion for powerhockey started in 2008 at the age of 14 as a volunteer coach alongside his father and has evolved ever since. Emmett developed his coaching skills which led to him coaching his own house league team while taking a lead coaching role with the competitive team, earning NAPHA Best Coaching Staff twice. As an alumni of Brock University’s Sport Management program, he has translated his passion to a career and taken a leadership position as a co-founder of PowerHockey Canada. Emmett’s youthful approach and kind personality have led him to make lifelong friends through his involvement in powerhockey, something that has greatly impacted his life.

Alex McLean

Director & Player, PowerHockey Canada

Alex started his powerhockey career in 2003 and has excelled, receiving numerous awards for his play. He has competed at many tournaments, most recently representing Canada at the 2019 Australian Powerchair Hockey Club Championships as well as at the 2018 IWAS World Championship. Having a background in paralegal education, he brings a thoughtful approach to the sport. As a co-founder of PowerHockey Canada, Alex lends an unparalleled wealth of analytical and strategic knowledge that adds to the overall strength and direction of the organization.

Ben is a 15-year veteran of the sport, with 10 years of experience at the tournament level. Ben is passionate about all aspects of powerhockey and is extremely grateful for the community of great friends that he has made over the years. When he is not playing powerhockey, Ben is working hard in his career in video production with his business partner Jacqueline at Fides Productions and his video production and marketing role with the team at MindFuel.

Ben is a 15-year veteran of the sport, with 10 years of experience at the tournament level. Ben is passionate about all aspects of powerhockey and is extremely grateful for the community of great friends that he has made over the years. Luke Hoban

Player, Philadelphia Flyers PowerPlay

Luke Hoban is a defenseman and Assistant Captain for the Philadelphia Flyers PowerPlay. He’s played for them since 2005, appearing in every major tournament the team has played in since coming into existence. With the Flyers PowerPlay, he won the 2018 PowerHockey Cup and 2019 PowerHockey Canada Cup. He also won the team’s Defensive Player of the Year award in 2019 and 2017. Off the court, Luke recently earned his Master’s degree from Temple University in Philadelphia and enjoys playing with his two cats.
